Tickets can be purchased through PolishTrains or PKP Intercity. Second class tickets often start around 30 PLN for a direct journey, while first class seats cost only slightly more.
Taking the train from GdaĆsk to Hel is one of the easiest ways to reach the peninsula. Regional train services run regularly, during both the summer and the winter, and the route travels directly through several coastal towns before arriving in Hel.
As the train moves along the peninsula, you will pass forests, beaches, and small seaside towns, with glimpses of water along the way.
If you are short on time but still want to explore, the train route definitely gives you extra flexibility to explore, unlike the ferry route, unless you'd like to hop off the ferry to explore the bottom of the ocean.

- No, I personally think that Hel is best experienced slowly. A day trip may cover the highlights, but an overnight stay allows you to bike the peninsula, wander the forests, and enjoy the beaches without feeling rushed. If possible, plan to spend at least one night in Hel.
